August 2021 - Back In Action for In-Person Events

Curtin was ready and excited to get back to our core business of serving as the Official General Service Contractor for expos and trade shows. Working with our long-time partner ITS-CA on their first in-person event since March 2020 was gratifying.  Our skilled crew of workers stepped up as usual to support this first post-pandemic event  held in San Diego. A sold out exhibit hall and excellent attendee numbers reinforced how much in person events have been missed.  Curtin is proud to have supported  our valued partner ITS-CA and their exhibitors and attendees.

In addition, Curtin was contracted to provide the necessary labor to install graphics, décor, and sponsor displays for SneakerCon 2021 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.  Our dedicated teamsters were onsite to unload and reload over 300 vendor vehicles each day over the course of the two day schedule.   Working on a tight schedule and in conjunction with the Convention Center’s great staff, this event was a success on all levels.  It was phenomenal to see the public back inside exhibit halls, and also great to have Curtin’s skilled crews back at work inside an exhibit hall and on the loading dock.

April 2021 – SF Opera Readies LIVE Drive-In Venue

Curtin is thrilled to be working alongside the San Francisco Opera, implementing strict COVID-19 protocols for the ambitious construction and production of the Opera’s live, drive-in venue at Marin Center. The custom-designed stage is the centerpiece to live performances of “The Barber of Seville” with viewers watching and listening from the comfort and safety of their vehicles. Curtin takes pride in serving as the Certified Covid Compliance Contractor to oversee all facets of pandemic safety for the Opera’s staff, Union trades, and performers during the nine week schedule of construction, performances, and dismantle. More exciting details about this unprecedented pandemic-era production, read the Marin IJ Article.
